Man United doped more points at Old Trafford despite a promising first-half display.
Manchester United drew 2-2 with Tottenham in their Premier League game on Sunday. Rodrigo Bentancur scored an equalizer for the Spurs as they left Old Trafford with a point.
What happened?
United stunned their opponents with an early goal as Rasmus Hojlund found the back of the net in the third minute. However, Tottenham’s efforts to score a quick equalizer paid off when Richarlison made it 1-1 with a header only 15 minutes later.
Spurs had a few chances to complete their comeback, but it was United who restored their lead five minutes before the break. After a one-two with Hojlund, Marcus Rashford scored his side’s second goal with a precise low shot from inside the box.
The second half started with an instant goal from Tottenham. United’s lead was lost again when Bentancur latched onto a pass from Timo Werner before smashing it past Andre Onana with a precise strike.
The rest of the second half saw Spurs trying to use their momentum to score the third goal but failing to convert their chances. United, on the other hand, missed a golden opportunity to win the game in the final minute through Scott McTominay.
