United finished at the bottom of the Group A table after suffering another home defeat.
Bayern Munich defeated Manchester United 1-0 in their Champions League game on Tuesday. Kingsley Coman’s second-half strike ensured the Bavarians’ victory at Old Trafford.
What happened?
United found a solid start to the game as they dominated the possession on home soil. However, their attacks lacked enough edge to challenge Bayern’s backline. The visitors, on the other hand, made a few counter-attacking chances through Leroy Sane’s runs but weren’t able to score the opener.
The second half started with United pushing for an early goal, but Bayern’s solid defending kept the hosts at bay. The Bundesliga champions finally broke the deadlock when Kingsley Coman completed his brilliant display by converting Harry Kane’s through pass inside the box.
The goal ended United’s European dreams as Copenhagen managed to beat Galatasaray 1-0. The Red Devils finished fourth in the group stage, while Bayern and Copenhagen reached the knockout round.
