Manchester City will be aiming to get closer to achieving their persistent dream when they take on Lyon in the Champions League.

Paris Saint-Germain are set to face RB Leipzig in one of the two Champions League semi-final fixtures.

One of the two teams for the other fixture will be decided on Saturday night at Estadio Jose Alvalade when Manchester City contest against Olympique Lyonnais.

Manchester City did not have an easy route to the quarter-finals as they were matched against Real Madrid. But they successfully overpowered the record 13-time champions in both the legs, beating them with an aggregate score of 4-2.

Lyon as well had to work hard to reach at this stage for in their path was Cristiano Ronaldo and his Juventus side. Despite the arduous nature of the task, they refused to get intimidated and knocked Juve out on away goals.

Form:

Man City: The Sky Blues had a horrendous 2019/20 Premier League season by their standards. Not only did they lost the title to Liverpool, but they also did it with an embarrassing 18-point gap. Their FA Cup campaign had a similar story as it ended with a semi-finals defeat at the hands of Arsenal. They have just a League Cup to show for their efforts this season.

City, however, have been excellent in the Champions League as they are yet to be on the wrong end of a scoreline in any of the nine matches.

Lyon: The French side’s previous league season had been equally disappointing, if not more. In a season had to be cut short due to the coronavirus outbreak, they finished seventh.

But they will be going into the match with high morale, having freshly beaten the 2019/20 Serie A champions.

Team News:

Man City: Sergio Aguero remains doubtful with knee issues. Left-back Benjamin has served his suspension and will also be available.

Lyon: Jason Denayer is expected to return after his injury, as is Maxwell Cornet. Kenny Tete will also be available for the match.
