According to The Telegraph, a Manchester City star left the offices completely disappointed with the new offer they put on the table for him.

Manchester City tends to have all their players completely happy when they offer contract extensions. Today was different as one of their biggest stars wasn’t happy with the offer on the table. We are talking about Belgian midfielder, Kevin De Bruyne. Ever since he arrived with the Citizens, De Bruyne has become one of the best players in the world.

In fact, very few will argue he is currently the best midfielder on the planet. Kevin has broken records and won several titles with the Sky Blue team. This is the reason he was probably expecting a massive offer for him to renew his contract but instead he left disappointed.

What did Manchester City offer De Bruyne?

Rejecting this first offer doesn’t mean the player and the club won’t eventually reach an agreement for him to stay for more years. The club considers Kevin De Bruyne to be a veteran as he is pushing 30 already. But he is convinced he will play his best football over the next 5 seasons. The next contract he signs will be the last great deal he can make before retiring.

As per The Telegraph, Kevin rejected the initial offer and he was utterly unhappy with it when he left the offices. Over the next few months, we will get to experience a bidding war between several clubs that will attempt to sign him. But Manchester City has the last word as they know making a proper offer will convince him to stay.
