Manchester City received some fantastic news on Monday, they got back one of their biggest stars after nearly four months injured.

Manchester City can finally rest easy after knowing of their biggest stars returned from a long injury period. We are talking about Sergio Agüero, the Argentine striker suffered a terrible knee injury nearly four months ago and needed to undergo surgery.

After that, ‘Kun’ began a long recovery process that kept him away from the pitch for too long. But Monday was the ideal moment for him to finally return to practice. Pep Guardiola sure needs this player back on his squad, especially with the rough start he is having in the Premier League. Gabriel Jesus is Agüero’s replacement but he simply isn’t at the same level.

‘Kun’ is a bonafide Manchester City legend and will surely cheer a lot of supporters up. The club gave us all an Aügero update by showing pictures of him stepping back into the training pitch with a smile on his face. A striker who is especially needed in high-profile matches due to his goal-scoring capabilities. Man City missed him against opponents such as Leicester City or Leeds United, where he could’ve made a difference.

With the Premier League record on sight.

Although the all-time Premier League record is still far away, Sergio Agüero sure has the 200-goal objective on sight. With 180 Premier League goals, ‘Kun’ only needs seven to reach Andy Cole at the podium and 28 to reach Wayne Rooney’s second position. Alan Shearer’s 250 goals seem difficult to reach but Sergio is the one who can do it. He stands as the only non-European player in the Premier League’s Top-10 list of goal-scorers.

That alone is already a massive achievement but Agüero is after the ultimate prize. With this recent knee injury, we still don’t know if he will return to his full powers but he can at least make it to the podium before he retires from the English club. We hope ‘Kun’ gives us one last dance at the highest level.
