The Sky Blues kicked off their FA Cup campaign in style, progressing to the fourth round with a comfortable win over the Championship side.
Bernardo Silva and Phil Foden were those on the scoresheet as Manchester City cruised to a 3-0 victory over Birmingham City in the FA Cup third round.
Riyad Mahrez would have also been alongside the aforementioned players had his positioning been better. The Algerian punched hole in the opposition defense with a lovely volley from Rodri’s chip but his goal was ruled out due to offside.
The Sky Blues gained the lead within 10 minutes of kick-off, with Silva thundering a shot into the top corner of the net. The Portugal international then doubled his tally of the evening just eight minutes later.
About ten minutes before the break, Foden tripled his side’s advantage by firing a low shot into the bottom corner.
