It is time to take a look at Manchester City and Arsenal’s Premier League clash at Etihad. Here are the Player Ratings.

After receiving the captain’s armband, Raheem Sterling aided Manchester City to beat Arsenal 1-0 at Etihad Stadium.

Sterling missed the international duty for England vs Wales, Belgium, and Denmark because of a hamstring issue. However, after his return for City, he concluded the fixture with a decisive goal.

Evidently, Mikel Arteta’s side beat Man City in last season’s FA Cup semi-final. On Saturday though, Pep Guardiola’s men kept a clean sheet with an elegant performance.

City raised questions after losing points to Leicester City and Leeds United earlier in the Premier League. Although, a comfortable victory over Arsenal right after the international break brings back the spark to the team.

As seen during the match, winger Riyad Mahrez showed excellent form in distributing the ball. The Algerian shook the Arsenal defense with his crossing and shooting abilities right from the beginning.

Calm and composed City.

Fortunately so, Sergio Aguero made his first start after battling a long injury period.

Taking advantage of a rebound from Phil Foden’s shot, Sterling stunned Bernd Leno with a strike in the 23rd minute.

On the other hand, Bukayo Saka supported Arsenal’s attack after falling behind to the Blues. Both the goalkeepers put efforts to save their teams from conceding goals as Ederson blocked Saka’s effort.

Injury-prone Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang tried to surprise City’s stopper with a few shots on target.

After returning from a quarantine period, Ilkay Gundogan switched Aguero to make his appearance for Guardiola’s side.

Nonetheless, David Luiz and Nicolas Pepe’s attempts went over City’s woodwork. The Brazilian nearly scored an own goal and Arsenal could not surpass their opponents after Sterling’s hit.
