The Red Devils have to play without the key midfielder due to suspension.
Manchester United are preparing to face Arsenal in a crucial Premier League game on Sunday.
The Red Devils missed their chance to leapfrog Manchester City from the second spot when they drew 1-1 against Crystal Palace in midweek.
The game also saw Erik ten Hag’s side suffer a major squad blow ahead of the Arsenal game. Following a careless challenge on Wilfried Zaha, the referee booked Casemiro in the 79th minute.
It was the Brazil international’s fifth yellow card of the season, keeping him out of United’s upcoming clash against the Premier League leaders.
Speaking on Sky Sports after the game, Jamie Redknapp explained United’s alternatives to replace the influential midfielder.
“I said before the game it would be difficult for Manchester United to not have him at the weekend,” the former Liverpool star said of Casemiro.
“They will have to bring in Fred or [Scott] McTominay and when you look at Arsenal’s midfield, it is functioning so well and I can only see it benefitting Arsenal in a huge way.
“They have got so much confidence now and it makes them red-hot favourites. He is not just an important player for Manchester United. But he is one of the most important players in the Premier League.
“Certain teams function so well when they have certain individuals and that is what he offers them. For Arsenal, it was exactly what they wanted to see today.”
