Liverpool will have two key players back in their squad for the upcoming North West derby.

Jurgen Klopp have confirmed Roberto Firmino and Joe Gomez will be back in Liverpool’s squad for their upcoming match against Manchester United.

The Reds hope to claim their first victory of the season at Old Trafford on Monday. They must face their arch-rivals, who come into the game on the back of a disastrous start to the new season.

Man Utd fans have announced plans to protest against the club’s owners before the upcoming game. But, Klopp hopes the game will take place as planned due to the season’s tight schedule.

“I really hope it will not happen but if it does happen I think we get the points,” Klopp said.

“We have nothing to do with the situation and if the supporters want the game not happening, then we cannot just rearrange the game again and fit it in somewhere in an incredibly busy season.

“People tell us we are fine, we go there and play the game hopefully and go home.”

Firmino and Gomez are back!

Klopp confirmed Firmino has returned to Liverpool’s training while revealing Gomez would start against Man Utd.

“Bobby has trained completely normally and is ready,” Klopp said.

He added: “It is an opportunity. He only came back to team training on Sunday from a little issue.

“Nat Phillips played a really good game against Palace. Joe is back, he will start and it’s a big opportunity.”
