The Red Devils have remained interested in signing the Barcelona midfielder.

The prospect of playing alongside Casemiro could reportedly become a deciding factor in Frenkie de Jong’s possible move to Manchester United.

The Red Devils pushed hard to sign the Dutchman last summer. However, their efforts didn’t lead to a transfer as the player himself preferred to stay at Camp Nou.

According to talkSPORT, however, De Jong has already changed his mind about a possible move to Man Utd.

The Red Devils have dramatically improved their performances under Erik ten Hag, claiming their first trophy since 2017 by winning the Carabao Cup. Ten Hag’s side also managed to knock out Barca in the Europa League playoffs.

United’s progress has reportedly convinced De Jong to consider a potential move to the Premier League next summer. The former Ajax star is particularly keen to link up with Casemiro at the heart of Man Utd’s midfield line.

After spending a relatively quiet transfer window this January, Man Utd will most likely invest heavily in new players next summer.

In addition to De Jong, Borussia Dortmund’s Jude Bellingham has emerged as a priority target for the Red Devils. However, the massive race to sign the England international could see United make a new bid to add De Jong to their ranks.
