The Red Devils will have to face Fulham without two of their key forwards.
Erik ten Hag has confirmed Anthony Martial will not play for Manchester United in their upcoming FA Cup clash against Fulham.
Martial has stayed out of action with an injury since February 1. The Frenchman returned to full-team training last week. But Ten Hag believes he’s not ready to make his return against Fulham.
Speaking in a pre-match press conference, he said: “I think Anthony Martial will not be available, and Antony dos Santos, we have to see how he will progress.”
Antony also missed out on Man Utd’s mid-week trip to Spain in the Europa League. The Brazil international also didn’t participate in United’s training on Friday due to illness.
Casemiro is another Man Utd star who’ll miss the upcoming FA Cup match. The Brazil international will spend the first match of his four-game ban after receiving a red card last weekend.
“We did really well without Casemiro, against Arsenal, the two against Leeds,” Ten Hag said.
“I think we also did really well without Casemiro also at the start of the season, but I want to have Casemiro available, because he has a huge impact on our game.”
Ten Hag will most likely start Marcel Sabitzer or Scott McTominay in Man Utd’s midfield against Fulham.
