The Red Devils have released an official statement in response to CR7’s interview with Piers Morgan.

Manchester United have started to take ‘appropriate steps’ over Cristiano Ronaldo’s recent interview with Piers Morgan.

Ronaldo has dominated headlines over the past week following his interview on TalkTV. In a 90-minute chat with Morgan, he accused United of ‘betraying’ him, criticized the way the club is run, and said he has no respect for manager Erik ten Hag, whom he believes has shown him none in return.

Now United have issued a statement on Friday morning to confirm the club will take action but refused to state exactly what the measures were.

“Manchester United has this morning initiated appropriate steps in response to Cristiano Ronaldo’s recent media interview,” read the club’s statement.

“We will not be making further comment until this process reaches its conclusion.”

United’s hierarchy wanted to wait until both parts of Ronaldo’s interview on TalkTV had been aired on Wednesday and Thursday before deciding whether to take action.

According to previous reports, the club board has consulted lawyers to check if Ronaldo has breached his contract with his comments.
