The Frenchman picked up a thigh injury and could only last for 39 minutes on the pitch during the six-goal thriller at Old Trafford.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has provided a vague timescale on Paul Pogba’s recovery saying the midfielder is set to remain out of action for a “few weeks”.

Pogba limped straight down to the tunnel to receive medical treatment after being replaced by Fred in the first half of the 3-3 stalemate against Everton on Saturday evening.

The midfielder, voted the club’s player of the month for January, has been instrumental for the Red Devils as of late.

He was absent for three matches in November due to an ankle injury and is now set to miss the FA Cup clash with West Ham, Premier League games against West Brom and Newcastle, and the Europa League Round of 32 tie against Real Sociedad.

“It’s an injury that will take a few weeks to heal,” Solskjaer told MUTV. “He’s just started his recovery, working with the medical staff and we’ll get him back as soon and as safely as we can.

“Of course, Paul has been very important for us and we’re not going to take any risks. [So it is] A few weeks definitely.

“You never want to be injured and, especially, now Paul was really finding his form and enjoying his football. For us, we just have to take as many points and wins as possible, when you lose players.

“We’ve been very healthy and strong for a long period so we can’t moan too much.”
