After collecting his second straight prestigious individual award, the Portuguese playmaker is desperate to win a collective honor with his side.

Bruno Fernandes is pleased to be crowned the Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year and has now set his sights on winning a team trophy with Manchester United.

After enjoying a fruitful first season, Fernandes has solidified his status as a mainstay in the Man United team in the second one.

The 26-year-old midfielder has notched up an impressive 18 goals and 17 assists in 37 Premier League appearances this term, in addition to nine goal contributions in eight Europa League games, five goal contributions in six Champions League matches, and a goal and an assist in the FA Cup and Carabao Cup respectively.

The former Sporting star can end the season on a high by winning his first trophy at Old Trafford and helping the club to their first trophy in four years with Europa League final fast approaching.

Fernandes told MUTV: “[It means] a lot. I always said that individual trophies are really good for players.

“It lifts you up, I would never say I don’t want individual trophies, but it’s not more important than a team trophy for me. But it’s always important.

“You’re doing something well, you’re doing something good, doing the right things means you can do a little bit more, improve a little bit more. But, at the same time it means that the people are liking you, like the way you play, the way you trying to help the team, the way you do things, so that’s very important for me.

“But more important than that is winning a trophy at the end of the season and this is what it’s about because football is a team sport and for me it’s about winning trophies.”
