Inter rejected United’s €45m bid for Andre Onana.
Manchester United have improved their opening bid for Inter’s Andre Onana.
The Cameroonian keeper has emerged as Man Utd’s No.1 target to replace David de Gea ahead of the next season. However, Nerazzurri’s valuation of him is higher than what the Red Devils initially offered.
Inter quickly rejected a €45m bid for the goalkeeper earlier this week. But it seems United are not ready to give up on their hopes of signing the 27-year-old.
According to Fabrizio Romano, United are now open to paying a fixed fee of €45m plus €5m in add-ons.
The Sky Sports journalist claims Inter are demanding a €60m package for the former Ajax goalkeeper. However, other Italian sources have claimed an agreement could be reached for around €55m in the coming days.
United have stayed persistent in their pursuit of Onana this summer as they look to find a replacement for De Gea. The Spanish keeper has become a free agent with the expiration of his contract at the start of July.
However, Onana is not the only goalkeeping target on Man Utd’s radar. Feyenoord’s Justin Bijlow, Brentford’s David Raya, and Porto’s Diego Costa are also linked with moves to Old Trafford. The latter is also among the top candidates to join Bayern Munich ahead of the next campaign.
