Manchester United have confirmed Jadon Sancho and Antony will not play in their upcoming match against Real Sociedad.
Antony misses the game after failing to recover in time for the game, while Sancho is out with illness.
In his pre-match press conference, Erik ten Hag hoped he’d have Antony back in his squad for the game. However, the Man Utd boss will have to find a replacement for the former Ajax star.
Elsewhere in Man Utd’s squad, Aaron Wan-Bissaka returns to action after two months, while Antony Martial stays on the sidelines despite recently returning to his side’s training.
The absence of Antony and Rashford will most likely see Cristiano Ronaldo start for the Red Devils on Thursday.
On the other hand, Ten Hag might include youngsters such as Alejandro Garnacho, Zidane Iqbal, and Shola Shoretire, who have all travelled with the team to Spain.
Having won all of their group-stage games, Sociedad lead the Group E table. However, United have a chance to leapfrog them from the top spot by beating them with a two-goal lead.
With the likes of Barcelona, Juventus and Atletico Madrid joining the next stage of the Europa League, it would be vital for the Red Devils to finish first in their group.
