The Brazil international could recover in time for United’s upcoming final against Man City.
Erik ten Hag has revealed Antony might return in time for Manchester United’s FA Cup final against Manchester City.
Antony was stretched off during his side’s 4-1 win over Chelsea on Thursday. The ankle injury seemed to have ended the season for Antony.
But Ten Hag reveals the test results have been more positive than initially expected.
Speaking before United’s final Premier League game of the season against Fulham, the Dutch manager told MUTV: “We’ve all seen how he came off and didn’t look great.
“But the first assessment is not too bad and a good opportunity he is available for the Cup final next week.”
Man Utd have a chance to secure their second trophy of the campaign by winning the FA Cup. A potential victory over City would also ensure that Citizens won’t win the treble, an achievement that only United have claimed in English football.
Having Antony back in the squad is a major boost for the Red Devils. The Brazilian star has regularly played on the right-hand side of Man Utd’s attacking line, registering ten goals and five assists across all competitions.
Ten Hag’s men will take on Man City at Wembley Stadium on June 3.
