The Red Devils could add a new midfielder to their ranks before the transfer window deadline.

Donny van de Beek is reportedly considering a move away from Manchester United as the club continue searching for a new midfielder.

Since joining the Red Devils in 2020, Van de Beek has struggled to find a place in United’s lineup. The arrival of Erik ten Hag revived the former Ajax star’s hopes of getting more playing time.

However, he has now reportedly made the decision to start a new chapter in his career.

According to Fabrizio Romano, “many clubs” have shown interest in signing the midfielder before the transfer window deadline on Friday night.

Earlier this week, reports emerged of Van de Beek’s imminent move to Lorient. However, Romano claims neither Lorient nor Genoa have entered negotiations with the Dutchman.

Man Utd are heavily linked with a move for Fiorentina’s Sofyan Ambrabat, who is Ten Hag’s main midfield target. However, the Red Devils’ efforts to seal a loan move for the Moroccan star have failed. According to Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Fiorentina are demanding a £30m fee for Amrabat, only allowing the player to leave on a permanent deal.

Man Utd will travel to London to face Arsenal in their first game after the transfer window deadline on Sunday.
