Sancho’s fallout with Erik ten Hag has kept him out of United’s squad in recent weeks.
Manchester United are reportedly considering a move for Federico Chiesa as a possible replacement for Jadon Sancho.
Four weeks have passed since Erik ten Hag expelled Sancho from team training due to his social media outburst. But the England international’s situation hasn’t changed, with sources close to the club claiming he has refused to apologize for his comments.
United’s squad was further depleted when Brazil international Antony was suspended due to an ongoing case of domestic abuse. The club are reportedly scanning the market for a new forward as they consider their targets for the winter transfer window.
According to Calciomercato, Chiesa has appeared on United’s radar as a potential replacement for Sancho. The Premier League giants could submit a formal bid to Juventus as soon as this January.
Chiesa was heavily linked with a move to Liverpool in the summer transfer window as they searched for a possible solution to Mohamed Salah’s absence. The Reds, however, won’t rival United in their January bid to sign Chiesa as Salah is expected to stay at Anfield at least until next summer.
Following their 3-0 win over Crystal Palace in the Carabao Cup, United will face the Eagles again in their next Premier League game on Saturday.
