Erik ten Hag’s side continued their perfect pre-season form by sweeping aside Crystal Palace in Melbourne.

Anthony Martial stole the show to help a 10-man Manchester United side beat Crystal Palace 3-1 at the MCG in a friendly on Tuesday.

Fresh from a stint on loan at Sevilla last season, Martial continued his fine pre-season form. The forward finished Diogo Dalot’s cross after 17 minutes to put Man Utd in front. It was the third consecutive game in which he had scored, having also found the back of the net in both the club’s previous friendly wins over Melbourne Victory and Liverpool.

Then, three minutes into the second half, he produced a lovely touch and pass for Donny van de Beek to assist Marcus Rashford in the build-up to the Red Devils’ second goal of the match.

Martial later released Jadon Sancho on the break with an excellent first-time pass. The winger proceeded to fire the ball into the back of the Palace net, putting the game beyond doubt.

Joel Ward scored late on for Palace, but it proved too little too late for Patrick Vieira’s side. It was their second defeat of pre-season in four games (W2).

Man Utd, meanwhile, kept their 100 per cent start to pre-season under new manager Erik ten Hag despite Will Fish’s late red card. They next face Aston Villa in another friendly this Saturday in Burswood.
