Man Utd 2-1 Crystal Palace: Player Ratings as United return to Premier League winning ways

The Red Devils claimed a narrow home win to close in on Man City at the second spot on the table.

Manchester United defeated Crystal Palace 2-1 in their Premier League game on Saturday. Despite playing with ten men in the final 20 minutes, United held on to their lead at Old Trafford.

Rashford strikes again!

Man Utd found a brilliant start to the game as they went ahead in the seventh minute.

Bruno Fernandes converted an early penalty to make it 1-0 for the hosts. United then pushed to double their while Palace looked for counter-attacking chances.

Things got more exciting when United finally made it 2-0 just before the hour mark. Following a fantastic piece of buildup play, Rashford slotted the ball past Vicente Guaita from inside the box.

Palace immediately went all-in with their attacks after the goal. In the 68th minute, the referee dismissed Casemiro with a straight red card for putting his hand around Will Hughes’ throat.

Only eight minutes later, Palace came back into the game through Jeffery Shlupp’s goal. Erik ten Hag brought in Marcel Sabitzer for Antony, trying to stabilize the midfield in the absence of Casemiro.

His plan worked out as Man Utd managed to hold on to their lead and claim the three points. The victory puts United only three points behind Man City at the second spot on the league table.

Ten Hag’s men will return to action on Wednesday, taking on Leeds United in their next league game.
