Man Utd claimed a hard-fought win to secure their second spot in Europa League’s Group E.

Manchester United defeated Omonoia 1-0 in their Europa League battle on Thursday. A dominant display from the Red Devils produced only one goal at Old Trafford.

A last-minute winner!

Man Utd started the game on fire, creating several chances in the first 20 minutes. However, they got more and more frustrated when their efforts to get an early breakthrough failed.

Omonoia keeper Francis Uzoho made several saves, preventing Antony and Marcus Rashford from breaking the deadlock.

The guests remained in their own half for most of the second half too. But United looked increasingly dangerous as the minutes passed by.

A number of other saves from Uzoho saw his side almost escaping Old Trafford with a point. But then a late goal from Scott McTominay ruined their night.

Following a deflected pass from Jadon Sancho, McTominay latched on to the ball inside the box before smashing the ball past Uzoho with a powerful finish.

The victory guarantees United’s qualification to the next round, with Erik ten Hag’s side having a chance to leapfrog Real Sociedad from Group E’s top spot.
