As the transfer window deadline comes closer, Man United’s biggest target decided not to play tonight in order to force his club to sell him.
It’s safe to say that Man United hasn’t been fortunate with their biggest target during this transfer window. We all know who he is. Borussia Dortmund star, Jadon Sancho has been on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s radar for some time now. The English winger fits perfectly in the description of the player that the Red Devils want.
This is the type of player that the gaffer wouldn’t hesitate to make his new number ‘7’ player. A jersey that legendary players wore at the club and that seems to fit Sancho pretty well. But the major obstacle in this remains Borussia Dortmund. There was a report on Tuesday about Manchester United making a €90 million offer for the player that was rejected by the Germans.
They are still adamant about not taking less than €120 million for the Englishman but United still thinks it’s too much. As a last resort, the player decided to take matters in his own hands. It all points out to a final decision ahead of the transfer window deadline that Sancho has made.
No German Supercup for Sancho.
According to Dagbladet from Norway, the player made the unilateral decision to not play against Bayern tonight. The plan is to keep pushing his agent to accept an offer from United and try to convince Dortmund that he wants to leave. This can turn into a problematic situation for both the player and the club.
As we all know, Jadon Sancho is arguably one of the most important players Borussia Dortmund has. Bayern will attempt to win their fifth out of six titles in 2020 this evening and Jadon was one of the few who can prevent that from happening. Not playing this game makes his side weaker.
Although the club claims Sancho is having respiratory issues ahead of the trip to this final, this report talks about a very different situation. Jadon might’ve realized that United truly wants to buy him and he decided to make his own effort to leave the German club.
