The Red Devils have made a last-minute offer to prevent the Feyenoord star from joining Lyon.

Manchester United are reportedly trying to hijack Tyrell Malacia, who was close to sealing a move to Lyon.

The French giants were in pole position to secure a deal for the 22-year-old. However, it seems the Red Devils are now closing in on beating them in the transfer race.

According to Sky Sports journalist Fabrizio Romano, Feyenoord have already accepted United’s bid for Malacia. The Red Devils have reportedly offered a €15m guaranteed fee plus add-ons for the left-back.

Lyon had a verbal agreement with Feyenoord in place, but the Dutch side have changed their mind after United’s offer.

Speaking to Dutch media, Feyenoord director Frank Arnesen confirmed an agreement with the Red Devils.

“The agreement with Man United is there. We are now waiting for Tyrell,” he said.

“If Malacia says yes, then a transfer to Manchester United is imminent”.

United’s newly-appointed boss Erik ten Hag is reportedly a big fan of Malacia. The Dutch manager wants the young full-back to compete with Luke Shaw for a place in his lineup next season.

Malacia was a key player for Feyenoord last season, making 32 league appearances for the Eredivisie side. He is also among the main candidates in his position to receive a Netherlands call-up for the upcoming World Cup tournament.
