After weeks of frustration, Manchester United goalkeeper Sergio Romero has asked the club to let him leave after a failed move.
A report has claimed Sergio Romero is now frustrated at Manchester United and is pushing for a move to leave the club after a recent failed move to Everton.
The Argentine goalkeeper is now third-choice at Old Trafford and the return of Dean Henderson means game-time could be even more scarce.
Romero has been Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s cup keeper in the past few seasons. However, Henderson has now taken that role of late.
The 33-year-old had hoped to seal a transfer during the summer and a number of Premier League clubs declared their interest. He was even close to joining Everton but Manchester United failed to agree a move with the Toffees.
According to the Sun, Romero is furious with United bosses after discovering Everton were willing to offer him a £100,00-per-week contract at Goodison Park.
They suggest that he has now held talks with Red Devils bosses, in the hope they will release from his contract 10-months early.
Romero will be available to leave on a free next summer and fancies a move to MLS and could push for a move as soon as possible.
Just recently, the goalkeeper’s wife also hit out at Manchester United for their treatment of the player.
