The United star returned from a neck injury to take part in his side’s last-minute win.

Manchester United defeated West Ham in a crucial Premier League game on Saturday. The Red Devils struggled to make serious chances in the first half but pushed harder to break the deadlock in the second period.

West Ham’s solid defence kept Man United at bay for most of the game. However, a last-minute winner from Marcus Rashford secured the home victory for the Red Devils.

The win sent United to fourth place on the table as they leapfrogged the Hammers. But there were more to this victory than a rise on the league table. It came after a week of bad news coming out of the United dressing room.

Cristiano Ronaldo received widespread criticism for his reaction after Ralf Rangnick decided to substitute him against Brentford. He came under the spotlight again after several reports claimed one of his previous interviews had offended United’s younger players.

The Portuguese superstar also suffered a minor neck injury but managed to recover in time to start the game. After the game, he expressed his happiness by sharing a message on his Instagram account.

“One more important win before the Premier League stoppage, one more step towards our goals” the United star wrote.

“The road is bumpy and filled with obstacles, but we stand together and working hard to make our supporters proud! Let’s go, Devils!”

Ronaldo will now have time to regain full fitness during the international break. The Red Devils will return to action in an FA Cup game against Middlesbrough on February 4.
