The new Red Devils boss will start his first pre-season at United in late June.
Erik ten Hag will bring much-needed positive energy to Old Trafford, according to Manchester United captain Harry Maguire.
The Dutchman takes over from interim boss Ralf Rangnick, who has left United to take over Austria. Having already announced five departures, the Red Devils are planning for a squad overhaul this summer.
However, Maguire believes Ten Hag’s arrival will provide United with enough motivation to improve quickly.
“It’s been a tough campaign, no hiding away from that. It was a disappointing season individually and as a group,” the under-fire defender told United’s website.
“Football’s my life. I care about the club so much. I care about winning matches and taking the club to where it should be, where the fans deserve it to be.
“I’m sure on the first day of pre-season, everybody will be buzzing around, doing their best to impress and coming back in shape. We have a big season ahead.
“We know we are going to improve because last season was nowhere near good enough. The new manager will bring positive energy and the lads will go with that.”
United will face Liverpool in their first game under Ten Hag on July 12. The Red Devils will then prepare to meet Melbourne Victory in their next friendly match three days later.
