Dayot Upamecano confirms he has held transfer talks with other clubs as he opens the door for quitting RB Leipzig in the future.

A string of noteworthy performances in the Bundesliga as well as Champions League in the last season saw Dayot Upamecano start getting admiring glances from several European heavyweights.

In an attempt to fend off unwanted interest, Leipzig pinned their prized asset down with a three-year contract extension in July.

The Frenchman’s future, however, remains a subject of intense speculation, though he is not expected to switch allegiances between clubs this summer.

Manchester United are currently understood to be leading the chase for the 21-year old center-back, who is also linked with the likes of Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain.

In an interview with Telefoot, addressing the ongoing transfer rumors, Upamecano insists his future currently lies at Red Bull Arena but hinted that he could leave in the near future.

“For the moment I am with Leipzig but it is true that I was able to discuss with certain clubs,” Upamencano stated, via Goal.

“As I said, for now, I am focused on Leipzig and I will continue to play for Leipzig. And then we’ll see. You never know what can happen in a football season.”
