Ray Parlour has called out Alexis Sanchez after he recently expressed resentment over his move to Manchester United.

Alexis Sanchez posted a video on social media on Friday detailing his struggles at Manchester United.

Sanchez, who moved to Old Trafford from Arsenal in 2018, insisted that he wanted to terminate his contract with Man United after his very first training session at the club.

The 31-year old winger also claimed that there was no unity in the Red Devils team at the time which left him with an uneasy feeling.

Ahead of the 2019/20 season, he went out on loan to Inter Milan before signing for them on a permanent basis this summer.

Manchester City were interested in signing the Chilean before he joined their city rivals, but the Sky Blues failed to secure his transfer due to the financial aspects of the signing – including his wage demands.

Focusing on the aforementioned point, a former Arsenal hero has issued a stern response to Sanchez’s social media post.

“If he really wanted to join Man City, why didn’t he cut his wages down and say, ‘I’ll sign for £250,000-a-week’? Surely he can live on £250,000-a-week?” Ray Parlour told talkSPORT.

“He got £560,000-a-week when he went to Manchester United. That’s scary.

“How can you say, as a player, when you turn up to a club you want to leave the next day? That’s not right. That mentality should not be in a footballer.”
