The Red Devils have made no progress in their efforts to sign the Dutchman in recent days.

Manchester United have reportedly inquired Paris Saint-German about Leandro Paredes amid their struggle to finalize a deal for Frenkie de Jong.

The Red Devils have been negotiating with Barcelona over a possible transfer for De Jong. However, in recent days reports have emerged of the player’s lack of interest in the move.

The player is reportedly keen to play Champions League football next season, which United cannot offer. On the other hand, Chelsea have joined the race for the Dutchman and are already in talks with his representatives.

According to L’Equipe, Man United are considering a move for Leandro Paredes as an alternative for De Jong.

The Red Devils have reportedly asked the Ligue 1 giants about the availability of the Argentine star. The French source claims PSG are asking for a €35m fee to sell Paredes.

The 28-year-old’s current contract at PSG expires in 2024, with the club being under no pressure to sell him this summer.

However, having played only 22 matches for PSG last season, Paredes himself might push for a move away from the French side ahead of the next season.

De Jong remains Man United’s number one target in midfield. However, failing to sign the Barcelona star might convince the Red Devils to make a formal bid for Paredes.
