A few months after the appointment of Ralf Rangnick, the club are preparing to decide on their next permanent coach.

Manchester United’s sacking of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s in November generated speculations over who will be the club’s next manager. The Red Devils went on to appoint Ralf Rangnick as interim manager until the end of the current campaign. However, one name remained as ‘United’s first choice’ for their next manager: Mauricio Pochettino.

Reports from several English sources have linked the former Spurs boss with the managerial seat at Old Trafford. The Argentine is currently working at Paris Saint-Germain, but he is already a popular face at United’s dressing room.

According to The Telegraph, the Red Devils’ current squad prefer to have Pochettino as their next manager. The English outlet claims ‘notable’ parts of the dressing room back the Argentine to take charge at United.

Pochettino is not the only manager on the club’s list of candidates. Ajax’s Eric ten Hag is also a serious option for the English giants. The Dutch coach has surpassed expectation with his side’s brilliant form in the past few seasons. The recent departure of Ten Hag’s long-term partner Marc Overmars from Ajax might increase United’s chances of signing him next summer.

In addition to Ten Hag, Julen Lopetegui, Roberto Mancini, and Brendan Rodgers are the club’s other candidates for the job. However, the recent dressing-room issues under Rangnick might persuade United to go after Pochettino, who already has the support of his possible next team.
