A former Manchester United assistant coach believes that his old club under Solskjaer can lift the Premier League trophy.
Manchester United have been supported to win the Premier League title by Steve McClaren. Who also believes that the Red Devils can win any game which comes their way. As we all saw, United struggled to find the balance at the beginning of the season, both in domestic and European stages. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side was forced to move in the bottom half of the table after a home defeat to Arsenal on November 1.
However, the then losing team displayed pure class of performance in the Champions League against PSG and RB Leipzig. With consistency slowly building back, United has now reached to the third spot in the English top-flight. Ole’s side has won six of their last seven games, including a thrashing 6-2 win over Leeds United. And with a game in hand, the devils will look forward to getting closer to league leaders Liverpool.
Title contenders?
United beat Everton in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday, and are eager to take on second-placed Leicester City. And McClaren has been inspired by the level of each player during the match at Goodison Park. The former United assistant coach thinks that United will fight for the title alongside Liverpool. He told talkSPORT: “The way that they’re playing at the moment, the way that they blitzed Everton for the first half an hour…
“The way that they absolutely dismantled Leeds – they overran them, they were more physical than them – not many teams will do that to Leeds. Not many teams will do that. They’ve got the players, they’re getting fit. I heard Ole saying how their fitness is improving – that wasn’t there at the beginning of the season. But the quality of the players they’ve got, they’ve got goals in the team. They can win any game.
“United are right up there, believe you me. They are definite title contenders.”
