Manchester United are close to completing their first signing this summer after agreeing transfer fee for Donny van de Beek.

Donny van de Beek is set to become Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s first addition in the summer transfer window, as he edges closer to a move to Old Trafford.

Manchester United and Ajax have reportedly agreed on a £40m transfer fee for the young midfielder according to Dutch Telegraaf.

Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano reports that United have also agreed on personal terms with Van de Beek, who is set to sign a five-year contract with the Red Devils.

The 23-year-old has spent his whole career at Ajax and joined the club in 2008.

He played a vital role for the team in the 2018-19 campaign when the Godenzonen won the domestic double and were seconds away from the Champions League final.

Van de Beek was left out of the squad for the friendly encounters with Bundesliga sides Eintracht Frankfurt and Union Berlin amid speculation for a move to Old Trafford.

Manchester United stars Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford reacted positively to the transfer of Donny van de Beek, sending likes on social media posts that announced the Dutchman’s transfer to the Premier League giants.
