Old Trafford was the place where this rescheduled match between Man United and Liverpool took place. We have tonight’s player ratings.

Liverpool was running out of options to make the Top Four this season as they approached this test against Man United. The Red Devils are already safe inside the top of the table with a fair shot at making it in second place when the season is over. But things don’t look so dandy for the Reds. Jurgen Klopp initially spoke about their need to make it to the Champions League next season. Today, they played a match that got rescheduled due to the protests at Old Trafford a little over a week ago. Despite new protests outside the stadium, the local authorities were ready to receive the angry fans this time around.

During the game, we saw a lot of action from the first minute on the pitch. Bruno Fernandes opened the score with a brilliant collective effort that granted him another goal. With this one, the Portuguese star broke Frank Lampard’s record as the midfielder with the most scored goals in all competitions during a single season. However, this goal was only good to taunt the Reds. Diogo Jota responded with the equalizer from the spot after a penalty was awarded in his side’s favor. Then along came Bobby with a brilliant brace. His first goal came during a set-piece right before halftime. After the break, he scored the second that got United in a tight spot.

Liverpool makes history at Old Trafford.

Bobby Firmino’s brace was the first time he ever scored goals inside Old Trafford, he did it in style but United wanted to respond accordingly. With a little over twenty minutes left on the clock, Marcus Rashford pulled one back for the Red Devils. He combined a collective effort with Edinson Cavani and gave us some exciting final minutes. But near the end, Mohamed Salah scored Liverpool’s fourth goal that secured the three points. The Reds hadn’t won at this stadium since 2014, which was a year after Sir Alex Ferguson left the club.

If they manage to win the last three games left, they will secure a spot inside the Premier League’s Top Four. Fortunately for them, Chelsea has a tough final part of the season. They have the FA Cup final against Leicester City and they also face the Foxes in the Premier League at King Power Stadium. In the last fixture, they have to visit Villa Park. Whereas Liverpool plays against West Brom, Burnley, and Crystal Palace. The Reds might have a shot at the Top Four after all.
