Old Trafford was the place where Man United got a visit from Leicester City in a crucial Premier League match. We got the player ratings.

Not everyday your biggest rival gives you the title as Man United just did by losing to Leicester City. Manchester City missed their chance to win the trophy last weekend after losing against Chelsea but a defeat from the Red Devils would give them the joy. Today, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s players had very little to lose as they pretty much secured second place at the table.

If they lost against the Foxes tonight, it wasn’t a major disappointment other than granting the trophy to their ‘noisy neighbors’. Things didn’t start well for the Red Devils as Thomas scored an early opener for Leicester City thanks to an assist from Tielemans. Five minutes later, another teenager scored but in Manchester United’s favor. Mason Greenwood got the equalizer quickly after Leicester City’s opening goal. We wouldn’t get much action until the second half of this game.

Soyuncu gives City the title.

Already in the second half, we got Ole using the big guns in order to reverse the result. But Brendan Rodgers was also willing to give everything to the cause in order to bring his players to Champions League football next season. Defender Caglar Soyuncu scored one of the most important goals in the club’s season after an assist from Albrighton. With this result, the Foxes reached Champions League football for the second time in their history.

Manchester United attempted to come back from this result but they couldn’t prevent the inevitable. With this loss, they effectively give Manchester City their fifth title over the last decade in the Premier League. They now stand second in the all-time list of clubs with the most trophies in the modern era. Manchester United is still comfortable at the top with 13 of them. Congratulations to Pep Guardiola and the Citizens.
