The Gunners will meet City for the first time this season.

Mikel Arteta believes Arsenal will find out “where they are” when they meet Manchester City on Friday.

The Gunners are leading the Premier League table with a five-point lead over Man City. Arteta’s men continued their wonderful run of form with crucial victories over Tottenham and Manchester United in the past two weeks.

The Gunners will take on Man City for the first time this season in an FA Cup match on Friday.

“It’s a big test for us against, in my opinion, the best football team in the world,” Arteta told reporters.

“We’re looking forward to it, because it’s going to tell us a lot about where we are.”

Arsenal will meet City in a Premier League clash on February 15. Asked whether the result of the FA Cup game could affect the crucial league match, Arteta responded: “I think they’re going to be two very, very different games.

“The context is extremely different. Let’s see.”

He added: “Obviously, it’s important to play well and to win; that gives you more momentum, more confidence and prepares you better for the next match. That’s our focus, to do that on Friday.”

Following their match against Man City, Arsenal will return to the Premier League to take on Everton on Saturday.
