The Citizens are open to selling one of their top-class forwards.

Riyad Mahrez is reportedly close to leaving Manchester City for Al Hilal ahead of the next season.

Since joining the Citizens from Leicester City in 2018, Mahrez has established a reputation as one of the Premier League’s finest wingers.

The Algerian star made 47 appearances for City as they claimed a historic treble last season. However, it seems he has now decided to end his glorious spell at the club.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Man City have “verbally agreed” to a €35m package for Mahrez from Al Hilal. The Saudi Arabian side have already added the likes of Ruben Neves, Segerj Milinkovic-Savic, and Kalidou Koulibaly to their ranks this summer.

Reports in English media claim Mahrez’s move to Al Hilal could be finalized within the next 24 hours. The player himself already has an agreement in place with the Saudi giants.

Mahrez has made a total of 236 appearances for City, scoring 78 goals and providing 59 assists. The Algerian star has won the Champions League, four Premier League trophies and two FA Cup titles during his five-year spell at Etihad.

Man City prepare to bid farewell with one of their experienced wingers. However, their incredible squad depth will most likely convince Pep Guardiola to go into the next season without signing a direct replacement for the 32-year-old.
