Manchester City have been boosted with news that Aymeric Laporte is back in training and should be available to face Borussia Dortmund.
Manchester City should be able to call upon Aymeric Laporte for the Champions League trip to Borussia Dortmund after he returned to training on Monday.
The defender was absent for the Premier League defeat to Leeds at the weekend, with Pep Guardiola confirming before the game that the Frenchman had a hip problem.
In what comes as a boost for Pep Guardiola, Manchester City have published pictures of Laporte taking part in training on Monday. The pictures confirmed that he has overcome the issue that forced him out of the Leeds game.
However, there was no sign of Sergio Aguero in those images, after he too missed the Leeds game with ‘niggles’ picked up last week. Guardiola could give a further update on Aguero’s fitness in his pre-match press conference on Tuesday and it should be stressed that not all players were pictured.
One surprise inclusion in the training group was defender Philippe Sandler, who has spent most of the last two years out injured with knee and ankle problems respectively.
Also pictured in the training group before the Dortmund game were academy players Felix Nmecha and Claudio Gomes.
With Laporte now back in the fold, Guardiola has his best lineup to pick from as they take on a game where they must avoid defeat against Borussia Dortmund.
