The Citizens might have to play without a key defender against Inter.

Kyle Walker was not able to train with his Manchester City teammates in their training session on Tuesday.

Pep Guardiola substituted the England international in the latter stages of his side’s win over Manchester United in the FA Cup final.

The Citizens started their preparations for the Champions League final with a full squad. However, Walker had to leave his side’s open training session with a back problem.

“He has had a little bit of a disturbance in his back,” Pep Guardiola said.

“Yesterday he was not good, today he was a little bit better but we didn’t want to take any risks. We will see in the next days.”

Walker struggled to find his place in Guardiola’s backline at the early stages of the season. However, his fantastic performances in the Champions League were enough to secure his place in City’s lineup.

Speaking about his side’s quest to win the treble, Walker said before the FA Cup final: “We have two massive finals. To say we’re up there with the greatest Premier League teams of all time we have to go and conquer some of that.

“We’ve been called the fourmidables [four domestic trophies in a season, including the Community Shield] and the centurions [getting 100 points in the league] but to go and get this we can really stamp our mark on being one of the greatest teams of all time in the Premier League.”
