The Norwegian striker picked up a knock in City’s FA Cup victory over Burnley.

Erling Haaland missed Manchester City’s team training on Thursday. The Norway international is a doubt for his side’s upcoming clash against Liverpool.

A groin issue has prevented Haaland from returning to action since his side’s 6-0 victory over Burnley in the FA Cup. The Premier League top-scorer withdrew from international duty with Norway and linked up with the Citizens.

However, he wasn’t able to train with the rest of his teammates on Thursday.

According to Daily Star, Haaland has undergone additional treatment. The former Borussia Dortmund striker has also done a few “lighter” drills individually.

Haaland’s delayed return could be a significant concern for City ahead of their crucial run of games next month. The Citizens are going toe to toe with Arsenal at the top of the Premier League table while still competing in FA Cup and the Champions League.

City’s April schedule starts with their upcoming match against Liverpool. Later on, the EPL champions will have to meet Bayern Munich in the UCL quarter-finals twice before taking on Arsenal on April 26.

Haaland’s return will be a major boost for City’s attacking line as they also have to play without Phil Foden. The 22-year-old withdrew from England’s squad last week as he underwent appendicitis surgery.
