The Citizens are eager to defend their Premier League title despite competition from London clubs.

Pep Guardiola is satisfied with Manchester City’s form and their position on the Premier League table.

Tottenham have reached the top of the standings with an incredible start to the season under Ange Postecoglou. Man City are also competing against Arsenal, who’ve returned to make another push toward the title this season.

Guardiola believes his side are on a path of improvement as they hope to defend the league title.

“Every season is tougher from when I arrived,” the Spaniard said. “Better managers, better teams, but this is the challenge,” he said. “What is important is we are still there after 10 games. There are still 28 to play and there is a lot to happen, but the way we are playing we are getting better.”

City smashed Manchester United 3-0 in their thrilling derby last Sunday. Since then, Erik ten Hag and United’s hierarchy have come under immense pressure from fans, but Guardiola says these situations can happen to any club.

He added: “I have a lot of respect for Manchester United. The period they have now, we can have it. Nobody is away from these kind of situations.”

City continue their Premier League campaign with a match against Bournemouth on Saturday. Guardiola’s side will then prepare to take on Young Boys in their next Champions League match three days later.
