The Manchester City manager is eager to sign one of the world’s most promising midfielders.

Manchester City are reportedly considering a move for Bayern Munich’s Jamal Musiala.

Since making his senior debut in 2020, Musiala has established a reputation as one of the best young midfielders in Europe. Already a cornerstone of Bayern’s lineup, the German international has attracted interest from several other top clubs.

According to German outlet Abendzeitung, Pep Guardiola believes that Musiala is on his way to becoming the world’s best No.10. The Manchester City manager is considering a move for the 20-year-old as Kevin De Bruyne’s long-term successor.

Bayern Munich are currently in no contract talks with Musiala, who’s under contract at Allianz Arena until 2026. A report from Bild claims that both City and Liverpool are pushing to sign the former Chelsea youngster.

Bayern could face a squad crisis due to their stalled contract talks with a number of crucial players. Since the sackings of Hasan Salihamidzic and Oliver Kahn, the club haven’t held meetings with the likes of Musiala, Alphonso Davies and Joshua Kimmich. Davies is reportedly a top-priority target for Real Madrid ahead of the next summer, while Kimmich is linked with a possible move to Barcelona if he doesn’t renew his deal at Bayern.
