The Man City star didn’t return to the pitch after half-time, with Guardiola confirming his injury.
Pep Guardiola has admitted he doesn’t know the extent of Erling Haaland’s injury.
Borussia Dortmund held Manchester City to a 0-0 draw, a similar result to the Citizens’ match against Copenhagen two weeks ago.
Following a difficult first half, City were eager to seal the victory after half-time. However, they had to deal with Haaland’s absence, who stayed on the sidelines with a foot injury.
“There were three things,” Guardiola said of Haaland’s fitness issue post-match.
“Firstly, I saw him so tired. The second one [was] he had a bit of a fever, like Joao Cancelo. The third, he had a knock on his foot. That’s why he wasn’t able to play in the second half.”
Asked about the severity of Haaland’s injury, he responded: “I don’t know right now,
“[The medical staff] were a little bit concerned at half-time, but I saw him walking okay at the end, so we’ll have to see.”
The draw secured Man City’s qualification to the knock-out stage as the Group G leaders.
The Citizens will return to the Premier League to face Leicester City before meeting Sevilla in their last group-stage match next Wednesday.
