The Belgium international missed the previous game after sustaining a knock against Arsenal.
Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne hasn’t returned to training yet, according to manager Pep Guardiola.
Guardiola played it safe in Saturday’s 2-1 victory at Fulham. As De Bruyne was struggling with an alleged knock from last week’s clash with Arsenal, he rested the 31-year-old to avoid any further setbacks.
Yet, when speaking on De Bruyne’s availability for Wednesday’s home game against West Ham, Guardiola implied a comeback may have to wait a little longer.
“Kevin has started to move but didn’t train with the team,” the Citizens boss said in a pre-match press conference on Tuesday.
Ake could return to face West Ham
On a brighter note for City, Nathan Ake is in contention to face West Ham. The defender has been out with a hamstring injury since April 19.
“Nathan trained with us yesterday, he feels good,” Guardiola added.
“We have training in a few hours, we will see how they feel.”
At the time of writing, Man City are the clear favorites to beat West Ham in Wednesday’s match. Bet365 is offering odds of 1.20 for a home win, implying Guardiola’s team has an 83% chance of taking all three points at the Etihad.
