A late penalty from the Norwegian star secured the three points for the Citizens.

Manchester City defeated Fulham 2-1 in their Premier League game on Saturday. Pep Guardiola’s side fought until the very end and claimed the prize at Etihad.

A hard-fought win!

Man City started the game without Erling Haaland in their squad. But that didn’t stop them from putting their opponents under immense pressure early on.

Following a perfectly-weighted pass from Ilkay Gundogan, Julian Alvarez scored the opener for Guardiola’s men in the 17th minute.

City remained in charge of the game after breaking the deadlock, but then a foul by Joao Cancelo changed the course of the game.

The referee sent off the Portuguese star for his foul on Harry Wilson inside the box. Andreas Pereira then converted the penalty to make it 1-1 for the Cottagers.

City immediately started pushing to restore their lead. But even Guardiola’s changes at half-time didn’t seem to help them recover from the red card.

Haaland thought he clinched the winner in the 73rd minute. But the referee ruled out his precise header for offside. City kept on attacking in the final ten minutes until they finally got what they wanted in the 95th minute.

Kevin de Bruyne won City a penalty with a brilliant move inside the box. Haaland then stepped up to secure the crucial victory for the Citizens with a powerful shot into the bottom-left corner of the net.
