Barcelona defeated Mallorca 1-0 in their La Liga match on Saturday. The Catalans got the job done despite showing an uninspiring performance at Mallorca.

Mallorca started the game as the better side, creating the game’s first serious chance through a corner in the 11th minute.
However, it was Barcelona who broke the deadlock through Robert Lewandowski in the 20th minute. The Polish striker latched on to the ball inside the box before rifling a precise low shot to register his ninth league goal of the season.
The Catalans remained in charge of the possession, hoping to increase their lead. However, they found almost no chances as they struggled to get past Mallorca’s in-form midfielders.
The hosts started their efforts to score the equalizer as soon as the second period began. They made a host of dangerous chances until the final whistle but had no luck in converting their chances.
Having escaped the Iberostar Stadium with a crucial win, Barcelona reach the top of the La Liga table. The Catalans will prepare to meet Inter in their next Champions League game on Tuesday.
