Manchester United skipper Harry Maguire has credited the club’s backroom staff as the reason behind his impressive fitness levels.

After making his 100th appearance for Manchester United, Harry Maguire is full of praises to the personnel working in the background.

The backroom staff might not get much credit but the fitness of many players for their respective clubs largely depends on them.

In the case of Maguire, he is well aware of the impact of the club’s backroom staff.

Since joining the Red Devils in 2019, the center-back has been an ever-present figure and hardly gets injured.

In fact, Maguire played in every minute of United’s 38 games in the Premier League campaign last season. He became the first outfield player to do so for the club since 1995. So far this season, he is yet to miss a single Premier League minute as well.

After making a century of appearances after only 602 days, the England international commented on what an honor it was to make such an achievement.

“It’s a great honour,” Maguire said as quoted by the club’s website. “Every time I step out for this club, it’s a great honour. Every time I wear the badge, come into training every day or play a game, I feel so proud and privileged.

“To make 100 appearances in such a short time is what I came to the club to do. My main focus is to play games, be available, and get trust from the manager in terms of playing week in, week out.

“That’s what I was brought to the club to do and thankfully I’ve done that in the first couple of years.”

Speaking on his fitness levels, Maguire added: “It’s been a long season”

“It’s been game after game after game, and I’ve managed to stay fit throughout, so it’s credit to myself but also credit to the staff in terms of the recovery and the nutrition and things we do at the club.”
