Houssem Aouar’s blistering showings for Lyon in their Champions League campaign has seen his price take an upward curve, reports in England say.

Aouar has been nothing short of outstanding during Lyon’s impressive Champions League run, helping his side overcome the likes of Juventus and Manchester City.

Despite bowing out of the competition following a 3-0 loss to Bayern Munich in the semi-finals, the 22-year-old playmaker will command a hefty price tag this summer.

After receiving a cash plus Matteo Guendouzi offer from Arsenal, Les Gones have upped the stakes, as they look to maximize their profit from the Frenchman’s sale.

As reported by the Metro, Aouar’s initial value of €40million has just gone up to €60million after Aouar shone for Rudi Garcia’s team in Europe’s elite club competition.

Lyon’s prized asset is expected to move on in the summer after a host of European powerhouses expressed transfer interest in the sought-after midfielder.

Although Juventus and Manchester City both keep Aouar in high regard, it was Arsenal who made the first formal offer for the youngster.

The Gunners technical director Edu pitched the idea of swapping out-of-sorts Guendouzi for one of the most in-demand stars in Europe’s top-five leagues to Lyon.

Despite seeing their first attempt fall on the Ligue 1 side’s deaf ears, Arsenal are willing to continue pursuing a deal to take Aouar to the Premier League.

Mikel Arteta is keen to add to his midfield options after deeming Mesut Ozil and Guendouzi surplus to requirements.
