Sporting director Juninho insisted that Lyon have received no offers for star players Houssem Aouar or Memphis Depay.

Lyon won themselves plenty of plaudits for reaching the Champions League semi-finals last season, but their lowly seventh-place finish in Ligue 1 ensured there would be no repeat this term or any European action for that matter.

Juninho confirmed in late August that there would be departures as result of their dismal domestic campaign. However, he didn’t name any specific player to leave the transfer rumor windmill in full swing.

The most prominent names touted for an exit from the Groupama Stadium this summer are Aouar and Depay. Both players impressed in Lyon’s charge to the Champions League semi-finals, leaving a host of clubs interested in their wake.

Arsenal, Paris Saint-Germain, and Manchester City are reportedly interested in signing the highly-rated Aouar in the current transfer window. Depay, meanwhile, has reportedly agreed personal terms with Barcelona.

“For now, there is nothing for these players, we have not received anything for Houssem, we have received nothing for Memphis,” Juninho told Telefoot.

Depay proved his money’s worth once again for Lyon by scoring his fourth goal of the 2020/21 campaign in Tuesday night’s 2-1 defeat to Montpellier. Aouar, on the other hand, received a straight red card just before the break.

The former, in particular, is widely tipped for an exit with his former Netherlands boss Ronald Koeman keen to reunite at Barcelona amid reports of a €25m transfer.

“We have not received anything from Barcelona,” confirmed Juninho. “Not even a call to ask for the price for Memphis.

“What I have understood, is that if he stays, he will be happy to help us to have a good season. The players who received offers have already left.”

Koeman spoke of his interest on Depay for the first time in a very brief statement by claiming Barcelona will need to offload players before a deal can go ahead.
