Lyon goalkeeper Anthony Lopes believes his side’s Champions League dream can continue as their underdog status is becoming an advantage.

If shocking the world by beating Cristiano Ronaldo and Juventus was not enough, Lyon went ahead and made even more shock waves in the football world by beating Manchester City.

The French side appears to have developed a knack for disposing of the tougher opponent. Neither game saw them dominate possession, but more a case of being resolute and seizing the opportunities that came their way.

Speaking to RMC Sport, Lyon goalkeeper Anthony Lopes feels that the fact his side is looked at at the underdogs seems to be helping. They will apparently employ the same technique and tactics for the next match against Bayern Munich.

Lopes said:

“It’s incredible because we’re clearly the surprise team, no-one expected us to be at that level. We’ve got the right to continue to dream, to believe in what we can do.”

“Our system is helping us enormously, playing with five at the back.”  “We knew that we would have chances and that we would have to take them.”

“We’re really happy to beat a club like Manchester City. You play football to experience such matches. Now, we’re in the semi-finals and we’ll try to continue our nice little match. We’re going to rest well and calmly for the match against Bayern Munich.”
